Eastbourne Skaters SK8 M8’s Breakfast Skate - review!

Well it started well, with a wonderful turnout from the weather and soon after several families and other new faces! Welcome one and all. Apparently the regulars managed to get it all wrong and missed out! Still we had a large group that managed to hoover up the usual suspects along the prom as we went. The pictures tell the storey. Many thanks to Fogie who (after last weeks pink smirf episode) was desperate to win back some street cred - and almost managed it with an inspired one legged backwards roll towards the Eastbourne Pier.

Eastbourne Carnival Procession - Postponed 1 year!

Due to excessive paperwork, the charity “Lark in the Park” has had to cancel its parade plans through Eastbourne this year. The new date will be 27th June 2009. Apologies to all those SK8 M8’s who offered their help - we’ll be ready next year!

Sponsored Skate/Walk

Well we made it and managed not to get rained on!

I used my wet weather wheels and they are certainly heavier going than the polyurethane standard set. Much slower and bumpier (lower rebound) - all in all hard work!

Anyway Carol was very pleased with every ones efforts.

First Breakfast Skate in Eastbourne 2008 - Pictures!

Well the first Eastbourne Breakfast Skate of 2008 started very promisingly! Lovely weather and a good crowd! Unfortunately we got about as far as fort fun, when the heavens opened and we scattered! A short shower thankfully, but enthusiasms were sufficiently dampened to call it a day. :( So those who made it back in one piece decided to go to a greasy spoon in the Marina.

Of course Fogie had to muck about!

Some of the Eastbourne Breakfast Skaters after being caught in the rain

So once we’d decided to go - off Fogie goes on a last skate - yes we know it looks like Teresa!

Teresa skating after the rain?

Who is that mystery Girl?

Yup it’s Fogie, who for some unknown reason has stolen Teresa’s pink top and is skating around in it!?

Answers on a post card please!

Eastbourne Skate Lesson and Kids Club for April 6th Snowed off!

That’s right people - snowed off! In April! According to the forecast we are in for about 7 hours of snow today! The attached picture was taken at about 10:30am before the snow started settling on the coast, but a few hundred meters inland there was already a good few cm of snow settled!

By the time I drove home it was close to 10cm of snow everywhere.

You’d never believe it was warm and sunny at 8:30! Looking forward to next weeks skate lesson and kids club! See you all then.
